(A) Sunset Blvd. & Vine St. 1949

Photograph from our Livingston Aviation Collection was taken with military spy cameras acquired after WWII. View north on Vine St. and Sunset Blvd. at the bottom. The Hollywoodland sign at the top was a subdivision developed in Beachwood Canyon. On completion of the development in 1949 the sign was given to the City of Hollywood and the letters "land" was removed. On bottom left is the original Capitol Records Building. On the bottom right is the NBC Radio & Television Studio which moved to their new headquarters in Burbank in 1952, is now Chase Bank. The Hollywood Tower Apartments on top right are still there and still an apartment building.
